Rock Springs & Little Minam River

July 10-11, 2021

On a hot July weekend five volunteers hit the Little Minam River Trail #1901 along with seven mules: Zeus, Dot, Rook, Lotta, Jackson, Skippy, and Diann. The crew worked on brushing and logout, completing 4 miles of brushing and removing 20 logs. At their Land Ranch camp they enjoyed a dinner of porkchops and apple sauce, baked beans, corn, and ice cold Coors beers. Rook was sprightly that evening and gave a show jumping and bounding around the meadow with hobbles. If you don't know, mules are faster with hobbles than they are without! After a hot breakfast of eggs and bacon the crew wrapped the weekend up and headed back to the trailhead, encountering a group of folks who were grateful to have a cleared trail ahead of them.
