TRAINING EVENT DETAILS:
Sawyer A and B Training and recertification
Learn the basics on using crosscut saws, how to assess cutting situations, correct transportation and safety.
The classroom portion will be at the Wallowa Resources building at 401 NE First Street in Enterprise. Use the middle door on the south side of the building and follow the signs to the classroom. It will be from 5-9 pm on Friday the 10th and again from 8-noon on Saturday the 11th. After that we will transition to the field portion and carpool to the Lostine River Road where we will practice with the saws until 5pm. Sunday will be more field practice at the same location in the morning and early afternoon, at which time we will do the evaluations and folks will be free to leave. If you need more time to drive home on Sunday we can do your evaluation first and do those of local folks afterwards.
You will need to bring long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and sturdy boots. If you have them, it is always good to bring your own gloves, hard hat, and eye protection, as well as your own saw and accompanying tools. If you don't have your own tools or PPE, we will have some available to borrow for the class.
Because the class starts so early, we will also provide sub sandwiches and fizzy water for everyone on Friday in the classroom. You should plan to bring your own water and lunches for Saturday and Sunday.
