Our crosscut and chainsaw certification courses use the USFS Developing Thinking Sawyers curriculum and offer the chance for official USFS sawyer certification.  They include modules on how the saws work, how to maintain them and use them in the field to address all the typical situations found when a tree falls across the trail.  These are bucking only classes and do not include tree falling.  

Each course will begin with 2 classroom sessions, the first from 5-9 pm Friday evening. We will continue with a half day classroom session between 8 and 11 am Saturday, followed by a half day of field work ending at 5 pm. The final day, Sunday, will be entirely in the field from 8am to 5pm, concluding with individual certification evaluations.
