Trails: Middle Minam Trail #1673
Itinerary: This stock-supported trip will have Red’s Historic Horse Ranch as a jumping-off point for brushing and log clearing along the Middle Minam River. We will pack in on the 20th, then two members will use their mule team to mow the airstrip at Red’s Ranch on Sunday, June 21. Monday and Tuesday (22-23) will be trail work days with a pack out on the 24th. Volunteers have the option to have their gear packed in or flown-in by plane.
Bring your own food and water. Trip is eligible for camping per diem.
Gear Packing List: Early summer-hot conditions with periods of intense sun exposure and variable weather.
Crew Leader: Russ West
Difficulty Rating: Moderate-Strenuous
You should have experience outdoors and be in good hiking condition with broken-in and tested gear. This is a remote backcountry project, so injuries such as sprains and blisters or even extreme fatigue from not being properly conditioned can quickly become a big safety issue.
Hike: 3/5 Moderate-Strenuous
Project Work: 3/5 Moderate-Strenuous: -- Mostly logout with some brushing.
