Trail Map: Horse Ranch Trail #1908 (if the QR code has expired, download the .pdf)

Itinerary: This is a 2-day backpack trip starting at Moss Springs Trailhead and working to clear downed trees from the trail to Red's Horse Ranch. We will also do some brush removal and repair a section of trail tread where a large tree tipped over and the root wad took the trail away, leaving an impassable hole. This trip is partly a training trip with our WMHCTA Hosted Crew, but we would welcome all volunteers to join us as well. We will be camping one night at the mouth of Boulder Creek and returning to Moss Springs.

Bring your own food and water. Trip is eligible for camping per diem.

Gear Packing List: Late Spring-Early Summer conditions with periods of intense sun exposure and cold nights possible.

Crew Leader: Mike Hansen

Difficulty Rating: Moderate

You should have experience outdoors and be in good hiking condition with broken-in and tested gear. This is a remote backcountry project, so injuries such as sprains and blisters or even extreme fatigue from not being properly conditioned can quickly become a big safety issue.

Hike: 3/5 Moderate

Project Work: 3/5 Moderate- Mostly logout with some brushing.

Possible Hazards: Creek Crossings
