Trails: Elkhorn Trail #1888/ Storm Lake #1889

Itinerary:  This trip will be to cut out and re-establish the Elkhorn Trail from Goat Mountain to Goat Creek. Expect areas of heavy cutout. Meet at Huckleberry TH and/or Boundary TH (will know after scouting) at 9:00 am.

Bring your own food and the ability to filter water.

Gear Packing List:  Early fall- hot or extreme cold conditions with periods of intense sun exposure and variable weather. Check local forecasts before the project.

Difficulty Rating: Strenuous

You should have experience outdoors and be in good hiking condition with broken-in and tested gear. This is a remote backcountry project, so injuries such as sprains and blisters or even extreme fatigue from not being properly conditioned can quickly become a big safety issue.

Hiking Difficulty: 5: Strenuous: Hiking is done over difficult and exposed terrain over multiple days.

Trail Work Difficulty: 5: Strenuous: Brushing, crosscut work, chainsaw work, rock removal, bridge building, other work over difficult terrain.

Possible Hazards: Creek Crossings, Scree/Talus, Heat/Prolonged Sun Exposure
